Online Gambling is an emerging phenomenon that is growing fast. Consequently, it is important to understand the factors associated with this behaviour. To this end, a literature search was conducted to identify all peer-reviewed articles related to the risk and protective factors of gambling online in adults. The included papers met the following inclusion criteria: population (P), intervention (I), comparison (C) and outcome (O). The analysis of the results shows that several factors influence online gambling. These are mainly contextual, but there is also evidence that individual determinants play an important role.
